We must defend the sanctity of Divine Law

This article has been published earlier here.

Malaysia and neighboring countries are under a lot of pressure to offer legal and public recognition to the LGBTs, and will be under even more pressure at the United Nations in 2013, where Malaysia will be subjected to a review of her human rights commitments under the Universal Periodic Review by the UN Human Rights Council.

The secular propaganda will certainly call for legalization of non-binary sexual practices, which Islam has clearly forbidden. Even Sigmund Freud has declared it pathological. Essentially, the secular position is that Human Rights must be extended even to humans who display unacceptable behavior.

The secular world will argue very forcefully that these practices are “consensual”, so they must not be criminalized. The issue of Muslim behavior may be raised, even though it is entirely irrelevant to the discussion.

Malaysia and selected Islamic NGOs have already made it clear that Malaysia’s position regarding LGBTs remains unalterable. This position was made clear when Malaysia together with OIC member states objected to the 17/19 UN Resolution on LGTBs, as well as objecting directly to the UN Human Rights Council Chair in Geneva.

Departing from this unalterable opposition results in many strange phenomena that we can see in America and the western world today. Since the 1970’s, there have been fully licensed sex clubs in San Francisco that require full nudity of all members, and free sexual access to everybody. Homosexual teachers have gotten the right to teach primary school children. Public high school clinics have the legal right to dispense birth control advice and materials to their students without knowledge or permission from the parents. The Sexual Freedom League was formed on the University of California Campus in Berkeley, to which all college couples, married or not, were invited to join and participate in various nude and sexual programs. These activities have been going on since the 1970’s.

Do we want to see this LGBT culture within our borders? Malaysia and other states which are against LGBT rights are only trying to protect the human race from the secular fallacy perpetrated by the United Nations that human beings may do as they please within their so-called “sovereign borders”, which were drawn by the European powers after the World Wars.

Facing the hostility of the secular world today, which controls most human wealth, is no different from what the previous generation faced in their lifetime, against the non-believers and secular minds of those days. It will be difficult, but the test of our faith is that we must nevertheless defend the sanctity of Divine Law among us. We are commanded by the Qur’an to witness this sanctity to the entire human race.

Therefore, the upcoming Universal Periodic Review by the Human Rights Council in Geneva may be the real test of whether we Muslims are true protectors of the religion of Islam and obedience to Divine Law. This Law is the same regarding LGBTs in all major religions. It is an issue common to all religions, not only the Muslims. Moreover, LGBT behavior demands public recognition, which they call “coming out”, not only tolerance. There is in fact no limit to their demands, so they must be stopped right now. May Allah help us all, and witness our intention to defend His Presence and the presence of His Laws among us.
