For my wife, on our anniversary

Assalamu’alaikum wr. wb.

In appreciation for your devotion and service to me, our beautiful children and our family members, I praise Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala for your presence in my life. Without it, and the love you have taught me, I could not find the earth or the balance of our lives in the material universe.

Insha Allah, with me you have been able to find that blessed woman’s world that we all need to be whole and complete in this life. May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala continue to bless us with His mercy and guidance, and make this marriage one that allows us to dwell in tranquility. May Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala continue to put love and mercy between our hearts. (ar-Rum: 21).

The devil is everywhere. Without your grace and patience, where would be my own protection, the protection of my religion? And this, which, according to the Prophet Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him), you have made possible for me to complete as the concluding fifty per cent of my faith, I share with you wholeheartedly and with all the love of which I may be capable.

And though you must be examined equally with every other Muslim male or female on the Day of Judgment, I cannot force you in your religion without damaging your love for me. Therefore, I now invite you, for the rest of your natural life, to join me freely in any and every religious devotion, with the same love that Rasulullah himself (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) bore for his own prayers, his own wives, and the exquisite perfumes which he and the Sahabah wore into the Masjid.

Of course, every man wishes to bring gifts to the woman he loves. My best gift to you is the strive of sincerity and constancy of my ibadah, the firmness with which I offer you my Pillars of Faith, as I forge ahead in seeking all the needs of this temporal life on earth.

May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala keep me strong for you, and grant you a tree to shade you in the Afterlife, for every one of your kindnesses to me. This prayer expresses the love I find in my heart for you, may Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala grant it to you whether before or after I face my own Judgment, in which I pray will be found your forgiveness for my every shortcoming.

  1. Assalamualaikum Sdr Azril,

Congratulations and Happy Wedding Anniversary to you both (yang ke berapa ya?). May Allah SWT bless your marriage forever. Insya Allah. As for us, we have in May celebrated our 59th years’ Anniversary with our children, grand children and two grandchilden (and now we have another addition).

I like your dedication and pouring your hearts content to your wife showing your unending devotion to her and the family, for which, I hope, the young of today should emulate.

Part of the world and social problems we have today are caused by broken homes and irresponsibilities of marriage couples; and some because of immaturity.

Again, may Allah SWT showers upon you and your family a long marrige life.

PS: Sdr Karim seems to be too occupied with the coming Seminar. Sms(ed) him several times, but he’s not responding. Hope you will be at the coming Seminar.
