To all our family members, relatives and friends – we wish you a Blessed Eid marked by faith, prosperity and joy. Eid ul-Fitr, the Festival of Fast-breaking marks the conclusion of the month of fasting. (Fitr, which denotes “to break” therefore marks the breaking of the fasting period and of all bad and evil habits). Eid is a time for renewed friendship and goodwill, a time for sincere forgiveness and making amends and a time of moderate celebration where children, communities and families come together and have a good time. It had been the practice of Prophet Muhammad, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam, that he would not sleep in the night preceding the day of Eid-ul-fitr. This night has been named in a Hadith as the Night of Reward (Lailatul Jaiza).
